Hughes Klaiber is a professional business brokerage firm, based in New York City.

We have worked with clients in sectors including manufacturing, distribution, technology, business services, apparel, food, online and traditional retail, consumer products, fashion, personal care, and more.

Our offices are in Midtown Manhattan. We represent business owners throughout the five boroughs of New York City, in the surrounding New York metro areas, and in New Jersey and Connecticut. Our clients generally have a minimum of two million dollars in annual revenues.

 We understand the rewards and challenges of entrepreneurship. We recognize how hard you have worked to build your business, and we work hard to ensure any sale of your business provides a return on your investment of time and resources.

 

Sally Anne Hughes

Sally Anne is a founding partner of Hughes Klaiber, and a professional business broker.

Prior to starting Hughes Klaiber, Sally Anne served as a director with one of the tri-state’s largest business brokerage firms.She also spent ten years as a vice president with Citigroup, where she held positions including corporate development and acquisitions, and corporate sales.  She began her career as an account executive with several advertising agencies. 

Sally Anne received an MBA from The Darden School at the University of Virginia. She also holds an undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Central Florida.

She holds a New York real estate license, and Series 79 Investment Banking and Series 63 Securities Agent licenses*. These licenses are important because some mergers and acquisitions activities involve the sale of securities.

She is one of only 12 business brokers in New York State who hold the Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation, provided by the International Business Brokers Association and based on a combination of experience, and training in areas including mergers and acquisitions, tax, legal, marketing, and more. Learn more about the CBI designation, and why you should use a CBI to sell your business.

With a family background with small and mid-sized businesses, Sally Anne understands the rewards, dynamics and challenges of building a privately held business. She speaks frequently to business groups and professional organizations on topics related to selling and acquiring small and mid-sized businesses.
