Sally Anne Hughes
Sally Anne is a founding partner of Hughes Klaiber, where she works directly with a range of clients to help sell and acquire middle market businesses.
Prior to starting Hughes Klaiber, Sally Anne served as a director with one of the tri-state’s largest business brokerage firms.She also spent ten years as a vice president with Citigroup, where she held positions including corporate development and acquisitions, and corporate sales. She began her career as an account executive with several advertising agencies.
Sally Anne received an MBA from The Darden School at the University of Virginia. She also holds an undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Central Florida.
She is one of only 12 business brokers in New York State who hold the Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation, provided by M&A Source and the International Business Brokers Association and based on a combination of experience, and training in areas including mergers and acquisitions, tax, legal, marketing, and more. With a family background with small and mid-sized businesses, Sally Anne understands the rewards, dynamics and challenges of building a privately held business. She speaks frequently to business groups and professional organizations on topics related to selling and acquiring small and middle market businesses.
Sally Anne lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children.
Julie has eighteen years experience as both an entrepreneur and marketing professional across various industries and disciplines.
In 2005, she co-founded Blow, a beauty services and product business, which is today recognized for having created blow outs as a new category in beauty. After six years of building the brand and managing its daily operations, she successfully sold her business in 2011, working in conjunction with Hughes Klaiber.
Prior to Blow, Julie spent seven years at IBM's Armonk, New York headquarters and in Paris, France where her roles included managing global advertising for IBM's small business division, as well as developing and executing demand generation programs globally. Julie holds an MBA from Columbia Business School ('99), with a major in entrepreneurial studies and a B.A. from Hamilton College ('93).
Having sold her own business, Julie completely understands all the issues, challenges, and concerns associated with making the decision to sell, finding the right buyer, and executing the transaction.
She lives in Old Greenwich, CT with her husband and two children.
